About Buddhaworld

sand mandala in atlanta

Buddhaworld is a human-edited directory of Buddhist information, websites, blogs, news, art, practice communities, study centers on-line and in the real world.

Being human-edited means that an actual human being looked at all the stuff on this site before releasing it to the world wide web. That doesn't mean that it's always one hundred per cent accurate, free of typos, or out-of-date. But it does mean that this site is more than merely a list of random links culled from a Google search. I have done my best to ensure that information provided on this site is reliable and accurate and actually useful for those of us on the path.

The Buddhaworld directory is listing of interesting and useful sites from the web. Use it to find new Buddhist blogs, news sites or other resources. Over time, we'll be reviewing these sites over in the Buddhaworld blog.

The news page is an aggregator of some top Buddhist news sites including the Buddhist Channel and the New York Times.

The resources page has lots of practical information about the study and practice of Buddhism including a glossary and reading list.

We've got a forum in the works (as an alternative to e-Sangha) as a place for folks to mingle and talk about their practice.

You can keep track of our progress in the Buddhaworld blog.

If you'd like to join the project, add your own site to the directory, or even submit reviews, sign up to be an editor.

This site is a work in progress. So some parts might not work. It works smashingly well in Firefox. (If you're still using Internet Explorer, ask yourself, is that the best path to awakening?) So please be patient while we work out all the bugs and kinks.

Thanks for stopping by. And check back soon for updates.
