The Insitute of Buddhist Studies

Founded in 1964, the IBS is one of the older graduate schools for Buddhist studies in the United States, offering programs in Shin Buddhist ministry and chaplaincy, the IBS is affiliated with the GTU and students can cross-register with UC Berkeley.

University of the West

Formerly known as Hsi Lai University, the University of the West is a Ch'an affiliated univeristy and graduate school in Rosemead, California (outside Los Angeles). Apart from Buddhist studies programs, they offer programs in business, religious studies, and continuing education.
